THE WORLD OF BLOGGING...

Took some time to try the blog out. Still don't get the hang of the whole process. It's like trying to learn a new language. Mostly I run out of time and patience to stick with it. Read Leslie's story about sailing and feminism on the screen, yesterday.Good story. But you know what? Again I realize that I do not enjoy reading from the screen as much as reading from hard copy. Even with what I write myself. I have to print out what I have written before I can truly judge my work, get the real feel of it. So far I still feel an alien in the world of blogging. Where did that word originate, anyway. Where is it made up from. First I thought it was an invention from Larry Keiler. / Beautiful sun-up this morning. Pastel streaked sky and paling full moon over icing sugared world. Have a good day everyone.

BLOG is short form for Web Log. Sorry, Larry, you can't claim credit for that one! Although Netty is right - blog DOES sound like a Larrry-ism.

Oh, I see! Duh, so simple. But then, often it's the simplest things that mistify us. Have we come up with a computer language dictionary? We meaning anyone?

It comes as a great surprise to me that I didn't invent blogs. I could have sworn it was me. Are you sure it wasn't me?

I'm certain I had a visitation early one morning, a ghostly presence resembling a question mark...I said, "Who are you?" and it said, "I am the harbinger of the electronic blog...you!...go among the benighted denizens of Cybermania, spread the word of global blogism, make me a solid question mark rather than a smoky, diffident, hazy, retiring interrogatory."

"Huh?" I asked, but the question mark had vanished. Only the certainty of the sign (scrawled on the bathroom mirror in scarlet lipstick) convinced me of the necessity for immediate action.

So I stole into the office of the Yoni School for Wayward Poets, commandeered the computer password (irvinglayton)and spent the next several hours creating HTML code, hyperlinks, popups, viri, and usernames. VoilĂ , the birth of the blog.

I'm pretty sure that was me...

How do we even dare doubt you Larry? You sound too sincere. You are King of the Blogs.

When I was a little kid, Leslie, I wanted to go in the free hanging swings that go round and round. (Free translation of them would be glider mill, but somehow that doesn't sound right.) Anyhow, my five year older sister freaked out. She was too afraid for me. My mom calmed her down, helped her in a chair, and when she was settled took my hand and put me in a chair right behind her so she couldn't see me. I loved the ride. I'm not even sure my sister knows 'till this day.

I was never afraid of the ferris wheel, when I was young. But I do get dizzy now.

I often get dizzy without ferris wheel. Put my head at the pillow to go to sleep, and feel like I am swung around and falling. First freaked me out. But now I just lean in to it and let it happen. No crash landings.

That hospital stuff sounds like a nerve-wrecking experience. Whenever I had to go in with Hans, I took the ghetto blaster and played favourite tapes. Hans' sense of humor came to our rescue a lot.

Well, this is not a comment. But I have figured out now how to find posted blogs and how to comment on them. But what do I do to post a new one? What if I want to start a new topic? Marianne posted "The World of blogging" for me. I've tried but don't seem to get ourdovetalewriters page for posting even if I start there. Man, my brain turns me a blind spot. Maybe that's because I had two serious arguments, this past weekend. One with that dog called Simon. He found a frozen, half chewed, still bloody rabbit. Carried it all the way home from Meadow Lane to Elm Ridge. Wanted to come in the house. Told him "You can come in, but not the rabbit. Drop it." The argument went on for ten minutes.I closed the door. Dog kept on scratching it. I then went out to do a bit of garden clean up. Dog settled in the snow, chewing. When I was ready and went in, dog still stayed out but soon that insistant scratch at the door again. Dog with left over rabbit foot. After more argument, Mister Simon allowed me reluctantly to take away rabbit foot and came in out of the snow and cold. If that wasn't enough, Aries the cat who thinks she is queen, decided that the only sleeping place in the world for her was my book basket on the TV. In it, besides books, a small home made angel, a friend gave me. Angel didn't stand a chance under the weight of Big Black Persian. She looked all crumpled with a fallen halo. I argued with that cat for more than a day. Lifted her out of the basket, talking harsh, saying "NO, no, no!!!" Every time I looked again, she had snuck back in. Well, I insist on being boss, queen or not. So I removed and spanked her. (No, I didn't hurt her physically). She was totally outraged and ran to the patio door. I let her out. She jumped on the pic-nic table, in the snow, sat for a while, looking huffy. Then she rolled up in the snow and went to sleep. The poor unwanted one with nowhere else to sleep. She really tried hard to set me off on a guild trip. I ignored. Later she came in, subdued, shunned the basket and went to sleep on the topshelf over the washer and dryer in a box with towels. I tidied up Angel and she reclaimed her spot in the book basket. A third possible reaon for my blind spot today, may be that I suffer from Monday blues. After a busy, happy weekend I am just plain tired and don't do all the things that I should be doing. And the weather turned blah. And I want my mommy to care for me and spoil me, feed me, and think for me.

If I had managed to start a new post, I would have called it Monday Blues. But that's OK. My post is now lost in the wrong world like I. Don't laugh!

So not only does Aries type, she likes books too. She's emulating her owner! May your Tuesday be pink...

The Tuesday early morning sky was pink.Late last night the sky had fast moving, long cloud-fingers, swirly, against a blackish-blue background, with orangy glow. Made me think of Northern lights, without the varied colours. My mood, you could say, is pink today. Even though I am being horribly domestic, cleaning and sorting closets, and, all such stuff which is only enjoyable when you see the results of your resented labour. And that takes a while since I goof off with each excuse presented me.

With lots of noise, Aries fell, box, towels and all, dragging more stuff along, from the high shelf. Did she look surprised. Didn't discourage her though. I put everything back and she's up there again, fast asleep.
